Practice Project

Me and my team chose the roles for each other because it just suited us the best. Everyone stayed committed to their role because it was the job that they were most comfortable with and could get it done easier. This helped the production outcome of our story because of how everyone on my team was enjoying their roles and getting their job done easier.

Safety is the number one priority during the production process because there should not be anything inappropriate during the video. This means that there should not be anything that could harm anyone in the making of the video. The main thing that people should know when it comes to dangers when making the production process is hazards,B roll, and risks should all be made sure is under control.

Interview Composition

There are three types of shots used in an Interview Composition. The host shot is when there is a narrator talking about what is going to happen in the next shots. The reporter shot is the shot that shows the person telling the story. Interview shot is the person being shown on the side of the camera screen and facing towards something else not the camera while talking about whats going on in the interview. The background of an interview shot should be composed of what the topic is about so if it is about cars there should be a car in the background. You should never shoot flat angles against a flat
surface during interviews because it will get very distracting and make the interview less appealing.

Interviewee                                                             Reporter                                                 Cameraman
The most important part of doing an interview is having a good angle in the shot and making the interviewee comfortable because it wouldn't match if the viewer is looking directly into the camera or if the interviewee was feeling awkward while talking during the interview. Having good audio, being a good director, or even asking follow up questions are all good but it's not as important as making the angle shot in the interview good or making sure the interviewee is comfortable and ready to be interviewed. Strategies that can make the interview good is having the interviewer be in a environment that matches with what he is going to be comfortable with.

Under The Blood Red Sun

Mr. Tim Savage is the director and Mrs. Mardi Savage the Associate Producer of the movie "Under The Blood Red Sun" which is based off the book. The thing that they do to contribute to filmmaking is that they help out with the planning and how the actors/workers are gonna do their parts. So Under The Blood Red Sun was about a Japanese American boy named Tomi, who lives with a immigrant family and it takes place in 1941. This also was taking place during the pearl harbor attack by japan. The family were suffering from tough times because most people in America would be questioning them and acting more defensive around them.

The first question that I asked was that how they came up with the title of the movie. They said that it was based off of the novel and it was a remake. My next question was if they still talk or meet with the actors or not. They said that they usually do very often and that they are like a family to them. They also said that they had a whole lot of fun making the movie and that they enjoyed working with all the actors and it was probably their best and most fun movie that they have made so far.

Public Service Announcement

The impact that a powerful PSA could have on the audience is the way they think about the topic. I think that a really good PSA will change peoples way of doing things in that certain area that the PSA is talking about. This means that people will start caring about their lifestyle and changing their way of life. The thing that I am hoping to accomplish is for people to start eating healthier by changing their lifestyle and making them realize how bad it is to have a unhealthy lifestyle. The audience should be caring about this specific issue because this has been a huge problem around the world for many years.

This Public Service Announcement will be sent to Olelo Youth Exchange which will help other people on their active lifestyle and it will encourage them to make PSA's for more people as well. They will be giving out prizes to the people will the best PSA's' so they will be able to enjoy theirselves while getting a good chance on winning a prize. The three contest rules that should not be overlooked is each entry can be submitted into no more than one category, student can submit entries in only one school division, and all entries should be submitted as MOV formatted files. This can also help by making them put a lot more effort into their PSA since they would want the prize.

My PSA changed a lot from my rough cut because made a lot more changes such as using new clips, editing, and music in my video. My team helped me find a good spot to film and they helped me come up with new ideas for my PSA. This was worth it because I had a lot more clips to work with for my PSA and I could have more time on it so that it would have 30 seconds of clips. The best compliment that my team received was when someone said that my PSA looked a lot more different and better than my rough cut and that it was really good and made them well informed after watching the PSA.

Our first project in Digital Media is creating a series of 3 Cinemagraphs. First, in order to create a successful moving still image, you need a simple scene that will have a constant repeating motion and look like the same thing is happening symotaneously. When making a Cinemagraph you have to trim the clips and then duplicate them a couple of times. Next you can create a mask and start editing it so that there is only one thing moving in the Cinemagraph while everything else that is supposed to be moving in the video is frozen. Then you can turn it into a gif and make it so that the video will never end and you won't have to keep on replaying the video over and over. Finally you can post it on blogger.com and save it and post it whenever you are ready.

For my next cinemagraph I am going to be pouring water into a half full cup. I will be editing the video and make it so that it will look like the water is constantly being poured in. I will be able to do this by getting my video and putting it into final cut pro then triming the clip to the clip that would make it look the best in a cinemagraph. Next I will mask the video and make it so that the water will be the only thing moving in the video while the water bottle and the water that was already in the half full cup will be frozen. The last thing I did is save the cinemagraph and then turned it into a gif and then I posted it on blogger.com.

For my last cinemagraph I decided to use a garden hose and pour water onto grass. I will be doing this using final cut pro and editing the video so that only the water is moving and I will make it so that the splash of the water won't go all over the place and the grass will stop moving and the garden hose will also be frozen. Then I made the video loop to make it look better so that the video will be playing simultaneously and it will keep on going into a full loop. Then I turned my video into a gif and decided to save it and posted it into blogger.com and did a little bit of editing in there. Then after that I decided to finish my blogger website and add a little more to it to make it look more professional.
